The Children in need night held on the 24th November at the West End Club, to a packed house, was without doubt a major success , raising over £1400 for the charity .The night featured 6 acts , all giving their time free to the club. (listed on the poster and including a last minute substitute, swing singer Daryl Gould). Club members , Maureen Conroy -Smith, Sharon Pepin, Lynn Nowne and Sandra Hillman really made sure that the evening went well ,taking the door money, selling the raffle tickets and shaking the Pudsey buckets to get the last coppers !.. Big mention of Kate Stoner for running the magnificent raffle; over 40 prizes plus 5 special auction prizes, including a very nice Bass guitar, donated by a club member. .The whole evening was the brai- child of Mo Stoner, who spent the year persuading .acts to perform free,.encouraging local firms to give prizes for the raffle and auction prizes, producing the media and making sure that the evening gained maximum press. Last but not least .big thanks to club member Bob Graham , who acted as MC for the night and did a sterling job.
All in all.. a super night, great atmosphere. …another West End Club success.
